pray for the effects of the recession in Luton

Pray for the effects of the recession in Luton:
- for those facing the trauma of redundancy – the stress and uncertainties involved.

- for all those seeking to find a way forward for GM and for others fighting to keep companies afloat.

- for those looking for work that they wouldn’t get dispirited. The number of people claiming Job seekers allowance has increased by more than 62% in the last 12 months.

- for marriages and families under pressure as a result of financial problems.

- for those involved in debt counselling – for CAP (Christians Against Poverty) a Christian initiative that helps people get out of debt. There is a possibility of a CAP ministry being set up in Luton. There has been a 30% increase in requests for debt counselling from those who are in council house arrears this year.

- for opportunities for Christians to witness to God’s love and faithfulness.

- that God would continue to release resources for his work in Luton.

- There has been a significant increase in shop lifting and burglaries so pray for the police, security guards and victims of crime.
